Under the banner of Drums Jerry Entertainment, the audio album launch event of “Uyiriniyae” from the project titled “Uravugal”, produced by Mr. Claudy Gerard, was held yesterday in Chennai.
Director and lyricist Gangai Amaran, music composers Satha Sudharsanam and Kannan, Thavaseelithanraj, Sago Ganesan, and producer Ravikanth participated in the event.
Speaking at the event, Gangai Amaran shared his thoughts about producer Claudy Gerard and said that the film’s essence reflects his noble intentions. He appreciated the effort of presenting a story centered on meaningful social relationships while incorporating AI technology to bring characters to life.
He further said that many of them had grown under the musical influence of his elder brother, Ilaiyaraaja, and that they would even send their children to him to learn classical music and voice training. He expressed gratitude for having had the privilege of growing alongside such great mentors and wondered whether today’s generation of children gets the same opportunity.
Recalling the earlier days of music recording, he mentioned that singers once used to perform entire songs continuously, whereas now songs are recorded line by line and later processed using AI technology. He questioned how artists could truly take pride in such work and candidly stated that AI technology is slowly affecting human creativity in a negative way.
According to him, if people become completely dependent on AI for creative work, future generations may gradually stop using their own thinking abilities. He pointed out that by simply feeding a theme into AI, complete lyrics can now be generated automatically, raising concerns about originality and artistic ownership.
He emphasized that children of the future must learn to think independently, develop writing skills, and bring out their own individuality and creativity. Concluding his speech, he emotionally stated that after spending 50 years in the music industry, music continues to be their very breath and soul, and requested everyone to continue supporting and encouraging them. He ended by thanking everyone present at the event.
