In Chennai, Royapuram, there is a professional rivalry between two parties selling water cans. Although the owners of the company do business without conflict, the youths who work for them often get into conflicts. On the other hand, a police officer tries to invest in the water can company and earn money. Due to this, the professional rivalry between the two parties turns into a big enmity, and how their lives are affected, ‘Varunan’ tells how.
Radharavi and Charanraj, who play the operators of the water can company, have made a symbolic journey through the film with their experienced performances.
Dushyant Jayaprakash, who plays the hero, and Gabriella, who plays the heroine, have acted perfectly according to their roles. The other hero, Priyadarshan, and Haripriya, who play the heroine, have also done it flawlessly, although it is a routine job.
Shankarnag Vijayan, who plays the villain, has expressed his villainy in a way that attracts attention. Jeeva Ravi, Maheshwari, Arjuna Keerthivasan, Hyde Karthi, Kaushik, and Kiranmayi have all traveled in a way that adds strength to the storyline.
Cinematographer Sriram Santhosh has kept the camera moving at live locations and kept the scenes moving at a fast pace. The way he filmed the climax fight scene is astonishing.
Although the songs and background score in the music of composer Bobo Sasi follow the story, it has given a little over the top buildup in some places.
The aggression and buildup in N. Ramana Gopinath’s dialogues are not in the screenplay.
Director Jayavel Murugan, who wrote and directed the film, said that the screenplay is based on the water can industry, but without putting any information about it in the film, he has given a typical commercial action masala film about the love, marriage and conflict that occurs in the lives of young people who sell water cans.
The conflict between the two sides, the conspiracy that takes place in it, and the subsequent loss of life are all things that have already been seen, so the film did not make any impact.
