My mother used to go to a lot of literary circles. She would talk a lot about the beauty of the Tamil language, and the question of how old Tamil really is came to my mind, and after that I read a lot of books. It was a great pity for me that no one knows our history now, I could make four films based on a few poems, there are almost 400 poems. There would have been a film with 300. You must have seen it all, it is a very popular film. I know that film should have been made as a Tamil film. Because there are so many stories like that here. We don’t know stories like that. I really see it as a matter of regret, I stopped asking why others don’t make films, and I tried to make this film because I thought I would do something.
