After the Madras High Court on Friday ordered to de-seal the Tamil Nadu Producers’ Council (TNFPC) office, the seal was opened on Saturday by Guindy Tahsildar.
The judges condemned the police action against actor and President of the TFPC Vishal, who was detained by the police on Thursday for trying to break into the TNFPC office which was locked by one faction of the members.
The judges also said if there was an issue it should have been solved legally. Following the spat in the producers council, the government locked and sealed the council office.
Vishal who tried to break the lock was arrested. Following this, a petition was filed in the Madras High Court on behalf of the president.
Earlier, the producers who are up against Vishal met Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and made a few requests including counducting fresh elections for the producer council.
The dissident producers alleged that Vishal did not keep up his poll promise and said he is suppressing small budget movies and acts in favour of a few producers alone. Meanwhile, some producers said though Vishal might have done a few wrong things the intervention of police was unnecessary.
