Kaala had a grand opening in the city and surpassed Mersal to become the highest grosser ever in Chennai.
Though it was said that tickets did not sell as it used to for a Rajini film, the collection on the first day in the City is reportedly said to be around Rs 1.76 crore.
The movie has been appreciated by all sections of the audience and the shows are running houseful. Santhosh Narayanan’s music has got huge appreciation from the audience. Overwhelmed by this, the composer took to Twitter and thanked the fans.
‘Thank you all for all the special messages appreciating the music of #kaala. I am so touched by all of them. I will try and get the score released very shortly. Please let me know your favourite bgm scenes. I will try and include them with dialogues,’ he tweeted.
The movie directed by Ranjith is about the fight for their land by the oppressed people.
