Kaalakkoothu Movie Review

Srushti Dange, Prasanna in Kaalakkoothu Movie Review
Prasanna and Kalaiyarasan are childhood friends who continue their friendship into college days. Kalaiyarasan falls in love with his college mate Dhanshika and Srushti Dange falls for Prasanna.

Though Prasanna does not initially accept her love, he is convinced by Kalaiyarasan. When everything seems to happen in a smooth manner, problems surface in the form of a local politician.

This also affects the love journey of the lead pairs. Did they overcome it and get married forms the storyline.

Debutant director Nagaraj has given a feel good movie with a mix of friendship and love. However, a few love scenes remind us of the 90s flicks.

The director has put in a lot of hard work which is visible in the climax portions. He could have concentrated more on the casting.
Kalaiyarasan, Sai Dhansika in Kaalakkoothu Movie Review
Kalaiarasan has excelled in his role and has several scenes to showcase his talents. Be it action, romance or sentiment he has done a natural job.

Similarly, Dhanshika as the college girl has done a decent job and gets applause from the audience. Prasanna has performed well in his role, however, he seems to be a mismatch in the cast.

The biggest strength of the movie is songs by Justin Prabhakar. He has done exceptionally well in the BGM section as well. The movie which begins with an interesting plot slowly drifts away from it and wander without any aim till the climax.

Kaalakkoothu is a movie which can be watched for the performance of the actors.

Rating: 2.5/5 – Story of friendship and love
