Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren Movie Review

Vijay Sethupathi, leader of a tribal village along with his sidekicks Ramesh Thilak and Raj Kumar, ventures into the city to find and kidnap a girl whom he had vowed to marry.

Niharika Konidela, daughter of a couple from the tribe, who moved from the village is studying in a college in the city.

Gautham Karthik, her collegemate, has a soft corner for her. After Vijay Sethupathi kidnaps her, Gautham Karthik along with his friend Danie Anne Pope travels to the tribal village to rescue her.

Did Vijay marry Niharika, what happens to Gautham and his friend form the rest of the story.

Vijay Sethupathi has played his role with ease and the character is a cakewalk for him. However, it has to be mentioned that he had very little scope for acting.

Gautham Karthik as the bumbling college student has not hesitated to take the backseat whenever needed and has delivered the goods at the right time.

Niharika could not have asked for a better debut in Kollywood and has shone among a cluster of stars.

The supporting cast of Ramesh Thilak, Rajkumar and Danie Anne Pope have all done their respective parts well. Gayathrie, though good, has not got much to do in the movie.

Director Arumuga Kumar has tried to give a dark comedy movie, however the humour quotient falls flat in many places.

The screenplay looks disjointed in parts and hence does not manage. One-liners in the movie have worked out in places. The script looks convincing on paper, however it can be said that it has not been delivered with the same conviction.
Justin Prabhakaran’s songs are above average and the BGM is also good.

On the whole, ONNPS is a fresh concept that should be appreciated for the attempt.
