Even as the producers of Mersal have decided to cut four scenes from the flick, support has been pouring in for the movie from all corners.

Already several political leaders have extended their support to the movie.

Now, DMK Working President MK Stalin also took to his micro blogging site and said that party always stands for freedom of speech and creative expression.

Stalin tweeted, ‘BJP’s attempt to muzzle criticism is contrary to democratic principles. The DMK always stands for freedom of speech & creative expression.’

Similarly, Indian National Congress, Vice President Rahul Gandhi has also spoke in favour of the flick and has asked the Central Government not to interfere with the Tamil Culture and Language.

The national leader tweeted ‘Mr. Modi, Cinema is a deep expression of Tamil culture and language. Don’t try to demon-etise Tamil pride by interfering in Mersal.’

The problem became a national issue after a few BJP leaders from the State objected the dialogues about GST mouthed by actor Vijay in the flick.
