Mersal Movie Review

Vijay Nithya Menon Mersal Movie Review
After facing several hurdles till the last minute, Vijay’s Mersal directed by Atlee has hit the screens. The movie created much hype with songs and teaser. Has the film lived upto the expectation? Let’s find out.

The movie begins with the kidnapping scenes of a few medical field related professionals.

Sathyaraj is the investigating officer of this case who tracks down Vijay.

During the investigation some startling revelations are revealed about the motive behind the kidnaps.

Vijay who has played triple role for the first time in his career has excelled in all the roles.

It is the father character that steals the show with both class and mass acts and excellent dialogue deliveries. There are more than a few goosebump moments for the fans to enjoy.

Vijay has also shown subtle variation as magician and doctor. The doctor is calm but not too calm, on the other hand, the magician is very energetic.
Vijay Kajal Mersal Movie Review
S J Suryah looks very daunting as a doctor who has a business mind. Be it the flashback or in the present, he has carried his role excellently and is certain to give tough times to all the leading villain actors.

Vadivelu has a strong comeback and his timing comedies in the movie are impeccable.

Samantha and Kajal Agarwal play the love interest of doctor and the magician respectively and have done justice to their characters in the few minutes that they appear.

Nithya Menon who is paired with the father Vijay has a strong characterisation and he has done a fine job understanding and carrying the role.

Atlee should be applauded for understanding the pulse of the fans and giving them enough to cherish with mass moments and has also conveyed a strong and bold message (look out for the dialogues on GST and the present medical scenario). There are strong dialogues that are mouthed by Vijay against the faults in the medical system.

AR Rahman has given life to the story of Atlee with his mass BGM and keeps the heart beat of the audience glued to the flick. The visuals are very rich and engaging.

Verdict: Mersal is the result of mass meeting message delivered by a star of Vijay’s stature.

Rating: 3.5/5 – Mass Message and Masala
