Kathanayagan is the story of how a hero with no courage manages to marry the daughter of someone who feels that bravery is the mark of a man.
Vishnu Vishal falls in love with Catherine Tresa at first sight. Eventually the heroine too starts loving the hero. However problem arises when Catherine’s father does not approve their love.
Adding to this, Vishnu Vishal is wrongly informed that he is suffering from a rare disease and hence he decides to donate his kidney.
Is Vishnu’s disease cured, what happens to the lovers form the rest of the story and it is delivered with comedy.
Director Muruganandham who had earlier acted as a comedian in Idharkkuthaney Aasaipattai Balakumara and Kaashmora has given more importance to comedy portions and has fairly succeeded in it.
Vishnu Vishal has given what is expected of a commercial hero with his dialogues, songs and comedies. Specially his combo scenes with Soori are laughter riots.
Catherine Tresa plays the love interest of the hero and steals the heart of the younger audience with her expression.
Apart from Soori, Anand Raj and Mottai Rajendran have also chipped in at places and have evoked laughter.
The few scenes where Vijay Sethupathi makes a cameo were also enjoyed by the audience. Music by Sean Roldan is peppy and adds to the jolly mood of the movie.
Verdict: Forget logic and enjoy the movie for the fun aspect.
