I hope the violent police are actors: Kamal Haasan

Tamil Actor Kamal Haasan has said he hopes that the police that allegedly torched the vehicles are actors just like him dressed as policemen.

The ‘Ulaganayagan’ has been extending his support to the students’ protest ever since it commenced and was among the few who raised their voice against the police when violence broke during the protest.

Addressing media persons today, he said that he was apolitical and added that he supported the student’s protest as they had a cause to fight.

The actor reiterated that the laws can be changed and regulated according to the need of the people.

Kamal also said that he is against any sort of ban and the animal welfare boards should be regulated and they should be made to understand our feelings.

“The protest was a symbol of discontent and is the biggest in the state after the Hindi agitation which I was a part of,” Kamal said.

He also said that if MGR had been there he would have handled the situation better and would have even visited the Marina.

On the talk of asking for a separate country for the Tamils, Kamal said that instead of branding them as anti-national, talks should be held with them and their problems should be addressed.
