AR Rahman’s name has featured in a long list of 145 scores in contention for a nomination in the Original Score category for the 89th Academy Awards.
This is for a song titled ‘Ginga…’ composed by him in Pele: Birth of a Legend and also for his original sound track in the same movie. Already, Rahman is winner of the prestigious Oscar and Grammy awards, it is to be noted.
The lists of both the categories were released by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on its official website on Tuesday.
At present in Kollywood, Rahman is busy with a string of movies, including Superstar Rajinikanth’s Shankar directed 2.0 and Mani Ratnam’s Karthi starrer Kaatru Veliyidai.
