The shooting of Vijay’s 61st film began on Wednesday in the city with a formal poojai. On the midnight of the same day, the first look of Ajith’s next film Vivegam was released.
Being a Muhurtham day, the pooja of ‘Thalapathi-61’ was held at a farm house in ECR where the shooting will be conducted for the next ten days.
Sources revealed that the protions involving Vijay and Jyothika will be shot here and these will be the period portions of the film set in 1980s.
The producers Sri Thenanandal Films banner announced the cast and crew of the movie.
While it was already known the Atlee will be directing the flick, there was so much speculation about the other cast of the movie.
As expected the movie will have Kajal Agarwal and Samantha playing the female leads while Jyothika will be playing a pivotal role.
The cast also includes SJ Suryah, Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, Sathyan.
AR Rahman will be composing music for a Vijay film for the third time after Udhaya and Azhagiya Tamizh Magan, while Vijayendra Prasad, father of SS Rajamouli, has written the screenplay.
The technical team comprises of cinematogrpaher GK Vishnu, editor Ruben, art director Muthuraj and stunt by Anal Arasu.
After wrapping the shooting in Chennai the team will be heading to North India, USA and European countries.
Meanwhile, as far as ‘Thala-57’ is concerned, the first look, which has Ajith in a tough and fit look, has been making waves and has become an instant hit.
