Ilayaraja who recently completed scoring music for his 1000th movie “Tharai Thapattai”, through which he reached an untouched milestone in the history of Indian cinema. So, a grand event of honour named “Illayaraja Ayiram” will be organized by IMM (Ilayaraja Music Management Private Ltd) along with Vijay television, in which the entire film industry will join hands to honour Isaignani Ilayaraja to show their gratitude towards his achievement of composing music for thousand movies in various languages. The event is slated to take place on February 27th in YMCA, Nandanam, Chennai from 6 pm onwards.

The show will be a dedication for Isaignani Ilayaraja, who has mesmerized the listeners through his magical composition and captured an everlasting throne in the hearts of people for a period of forty years. As a token of gratitude, the entire film industry including film stars, renowned celebrities, musicians who got fascinated by Isaignani’s magnetic music will share their awe moments during the show and will also perform the evergreen songs which are near to everyone’s heart from Isaignani Ilayaraja’s composition in front of him. And the legend himself will share his experiences and the hurdles he has over come so far in the journey of music, live to his fans.

As a prelude to this mega event “Illayaraja ayiram”, an inaugural function was conducted in Prasad studios, Vadapalani. Many eminent personalities from the film fraternity attended the inaugural function including veteran producer Sri. Panju Arunachalam, Actor prabhu, Actress Lalitha kumari, Sri kalaipuli .S.Dhanu (President,Tamil film producers council), Shri. G. Shiva (FEFSI), T. Shiva (Secretary, Tamil film Producer’s council).

Veteran producer Shri. Panju Arunachalam, who introduced Illayaraja through his movie “annakilli” into film industry says, “I am here not just to cherish his achievement in composing thousand movies, I wish the music maestro continues to accomplish greater feats in the years to come”.

Successful producer Sri kalaipuli .S.Dhanu talks about the event, “We would raise to the occasion to support this mega event to honour the music maestro and I feel thankful to Vijay Television for organising this great tribute to honour illayaraja sir”.

Mr. Nasser renders his support stating that, “Isaignani Illayaraja is an invaluable asset to the Tamil film industry, so it’s our duty to celebrate him and his accomplishments. South Indian artists association along with producer’s council, are planning ahead to make event successful”.

Actor Prabhu expresses his heartfelt thanks to Isagnani, “He has composed music for my movies which became a hit numbers, so he has helped me become who I am today”

Renowned producer Mr .T.Shiva says “As a token of gratitude, the entire film industry will be present to honour Isaignani for his successful journey in scoring music. In this show, evergreen songs which are near to everyone’s heart from Isaignani Illayaraja’s composition will be performed in front of him”.

When asked about this mega event to Vijay television’s General Manager, Mr. K. Sriram says, “Isaignani is celebrated by the whole world. So, a show of appreciation for him is a remarkable event. We take immense pleasure in thanking Isaignani Ilayaraja for permitting us to organize this great show”.

“In my point of view, music composition for thousand movies is just a number. I cannot be proud of myself for this. Music is my life, music is my breath. I am happy that my music has created an intimate bond with every fan. The biggest appreciation is the sound of applause from my fans and that is what means a lot to me always. When they said the event is a tribute for my music, I consider that it will be a tribute for the almighty who has gifted me with a wonderful talent of music. So I am glad to take part in this function” says Ilayaraja.

Like stars in the sky, the show will see his fans, great musicians and celebrities and on the whole, it will be entirely a different visual treat that the industry has never seen before. 27 Feb, Saturday, YMCA Nandanam, Chennai from 6 pm onwards.
